As part of the New Zealand International Science Festival to be held in Dunedin from 30 June until 9 July, Ageing Well is teaming up with other National Science Challenges to host a discussion called Healthier Kiwis: A National Science Challenges Panel.

The panel talk will focus on on how can we improve the health and wellbeing of kiwis across all age, cultural and economic spectrums, and will discuss the innovative research done by four National Science Challenges over the past decade.

The event is a collaboration between Ageing Well and three of our sister National Science Challenges – A Better Start, Healthier Lives, and Science for Technological Innovation – and will be held at Petridish on Tuesday, 4 July at 5:30pm. The event will be moderated by Professor Peter Crampton from the Kōhatu Centre for Hauora Māori at the University of Otago.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for the public to attend and learn about the innovative and forward-focused work achieved by the National Science Challenges,” Professor Parr-Brownlie said.

Ageing Well Director Professor Louise Parr Brownlie will be joined on stage by Professor Barry Taylor from A Better Start, Professor Parry Guilford from Healthier Lives, and Professor Geoff Chase from Science for Technological Innovation.

The focus of Professor Parr-Brownlie’s talk is the challenges (and opportunities) of ageing well.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for the public to attend and learn about the innovative and forward-focused work achieved by the National Science Challenges,” Professor Parr-Brownlie said.

“I am excited by this opportunity to engage in discussion about how all New Zealanders can age well across the lifecourse,” she added.

This event is open to the public and we encourage you to purchase your tickets early to ensure your seat.
